The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) stated on Friday it took up the difficulty of media reports pertaining to targeting of WhatsApp users with a hacking software program from not simplest Pakistan however across the world. “With connection with media reviews concerning WhatsApp customers being focused worldwide including customers from Pakistan with a hacking software, PTA has taken up the problem with WhatsApp,
The PTA further said that it meant to retrieve records that was hacked from Pakistani users and also talk remedial measures taken by way of WhatsApp to ensure a similar incident failed to show up again.
The PTA stated as;
“The public is advised to upgrade the WhatsApp application to latest version and keep the device Operating System up to date in order to avoid such incidents. Affected individuals are requested to contact PTA at content-complaint@pta.gov.pk,” .
